“Out of the Fire with All Our Hair”

Sometimes Sisters, well,…..we can just get Hurt.

Hurts can be caused by all manner of things in life, such as, a hurt by a loved-one causing hurt to themselves, or a hurt by a loved-one’s words or actions (even if they had no intention of hurting us, in some cases), or simply a hurt we may have caused yourself.

In any case,

All I can say is…….Hurts just plain Hurt!!!

I bring this to you today Sister’s because I recently experienced this myself.

I want to share a little something I was so graciously led to, and I’m still so utterly amazed by it.

I was led to the story of “The Fiery Furnace” in the beautiful book of Daniel 3:8-30. I am going to attempt to bring you a small scale synopsis of this story,(and remember, I am just a Sister stumbling around, tryin’ to live by faith) but I would encourage you to have a look at this story if you haven’t already.

To give you a bit of context here:

King Nebuchadnezzar, King of the Babylonians during this time, made and set up a new huge golden statue to worship.

During the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar, a decree was formed that of the sound of horns and all various music, every man was to fall down and worship the golden image.

At this time their was three Jews by the names Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (also said friends of Daniel) whom refused to worship other gods or the golden image.

The King heard this and ordered the men before him. He asked them if this was true and basically gave them a second chance, he then exclaimed if they did not do so they would be immediately cast into the fiery furnace. He also asked Who is the God who will deliver you out of my hands?

Can we say P-R-E-S-S-U-R-E……….

Sister’s can you imagine yourself in this situation?

I think if I had to pick a word, for me it would have to pick Vulnerable! (The ultimate DANGER ZONE)

This is exactly where I end up when I get hurt.

When we get hurt, we can often feel under attack is some way, which can lead us to absolute vulnerability. When we are in a vulnerable state,(and let me tell ya, It should be a state of it’s own) we not only open ourselves up for attack, it can lead to persuasion, temptation and before you know it, sin……

It is so easy to choose the wrong path when we are weak, sometimes out of sheer desperation!

I wonder how many other Sister’s can relate?

Here Sisters was their reply: Daniel 3:16-17

16 (P)Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If this be so, (Q)our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.[c] 18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” (emphasis mine)

Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

I know I made that in bold print before, ahem…… but, really I needed to type it out again….so it starts sticking to me like glue!!! How about you?

Look at the Faith of these three men Sister’s…So Beautiful…They absolutely stood Firm in their Faith at all costs!!

I can almost guarantee, If they hadn’t, they woulda missed a lot more than the “hair on their heads.”

This filled the King with Fury, He ordered the furnace seven times hotter than it’s normal temperature. His was Mad Sister’s…mad, mad, mad. He also ordered for them to be bound and thrown into the burning fiery furnace.

The King’s men who took Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego up were killed by the flames of the fire, then these three men fell into the fiery furnace.

The King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished, He rose up and asked the counselors, did we not cast three men bound into the fire? They answered and said yes that was true.

and here’s what happens next:

Daniel 3:25 (ESV)

25 He answered and said, “But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”  (emphasis mine)

It was said Sister’s in my Bible Handbook:The Baker Illustrated Bible Handbook -Edited by Hays/Duvall that the fourth was apparently either an angel or the Lord Himself.

Wow Sister’s…..did you see? They are walking in the midst of the fire, and they are unharmed…

Why?……Because they stood firm in their Faith.

Next King Nebuchadnezzar orders them out of the fiery furnace….have a look.

Daniel 3:27 (ESV)

27 And the satraps, the prefects, the governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together and saw that the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men. The hair of their heads was not singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them. (emphasis mine)

and next……

Daniel 3:28 (ESV)

28 Nebuchadnezzar answered and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set aside[e] the king’s command, and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God.

and King Nebuchadnezzar goes on to say, their is no other God who is able to rescue in this way!

Sister’s, I alway have a way of going the long way about everything, but ya know,…..It’s just my styyyyyle.

Here’s what I see……….

1) We Stand Firm in Our Faith at all Costs

2) God is able to deliver us from the Fiery Furnace

3) If we stand firm and believe, He will bring us

out of the fire with all of Our Hair…….

Sister’s…We are called to Love and Forgive, and trust God!!!

Which is hard to do sometime’s when were hurt, but Sister’s He is our only true deliverer, He is our only way out of the fire…..Let’s not be vulnerable and dangerous,Let’s trust and keep our Hair!!!

Isaiah 43:2-3  ”When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned…for I am the Lord, your God”

Your God Sister’s…..That mean’s you and Me!!

Thank You Jesus, In your Mighty and Powerful name…..Amen!!!

Love Y’all,

The Lady :-)

I love reading your insight into what you have been studying. It really makes me stop and reflect on things in my own life. I know with all my heart that God is always with us. In good times and not so good times. Sometimes, just like everyone else, I need to be reminded of that immense love HE has for us. The message you have delivered in review of your readings has been so helpful to me tonight. Thank you so much for your sharing. I love you my sweet girl. God Bless.
